Emerging and Converging Latino Health Issues in Ohio:
Demographics, Epidemiology and Access

The Ohio Latino Health Summit took place on Wednesday, October 10th at the University of Akron, OH.  LULAC has been proud to sponsor this event for the past seven years, in partnership with The Ohio Commission on Hispanic Latino Affairs (OCHLA). The Keynote speaker was Kenneth L. Dominguez, MD, MPH,CAPT/US Public Health Service, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Lourdes Ribera, President of LULAC Cincinnati and Dan Almaguer, LULAC Director of Health attended this event.

This Health Summit provides a great forum for community leaders in academics, government, and public service to work together to increase Health awareness and close existing health gaps in our Ohio communities. LULAC continues to support the efforts to influence public health policies in the Ohio legislature that seek to identify and take corrective action to reduce health disparities in Ohio’s vulnerable communities, especially Latino and underserved communities.
